This post isn’t glass related; if you were hoping to find one, sorry…try back in a couple of days.

No, I’d like to take a moment to instead give some praise to someone I’ve called out in the past: the superintendent of schools in my town, Maryellen Brunelle.

In the past I’ve called Maryellen out for overuse of the contact distribution system the town’s department of education has, in effect diluting the message in the case of emergency, by sending out messages about sports games and fundraisers rather than saving it for emergencies.

Well, either the town got it right (or they just stripped my contact information from the system), but so far this school year I haven’t gotten a single non-emergency call or email from the blast system.

Whatever you and your crew did, thank you.

UPDATE: I need to call at some point and double check, but given there’s been at least one weather related closing and one similarly caused delay, and I verified that other parents do indeed get the calls, it looks like they stripped out all of the contact info.

So, let’s say the problem is a broken axle and the symptom is a squeaky wheel. The solution here evidently was to turn up the stereo.

It’s going to be a long 14 years.
