I’m still waiting on the kiln to cool completely, so no glass post today. No, today I want to post a little PSA to advocate for people to get a f’ing clue when they’re out driving.
- Contrary to popular belief, turn signals are not a sign of weakness. They are safety equipment there to help alert other drivers that you’re going to be slowing and turning off the road. That way when we’re traveling at speed and you suddenly decide to make your turn I don’t have to slam on my brakes.
- If you missed your turn, don’t suddenly pull a u-turn in an illegal spot, like at the base of a hill. Today I almost hit some idiot who pulled this crap. I’d like to add that the roads were wet and coated with leaves; not exactly ideal braking conditions. Man up, pull up the road a little ways and find somewhere safe to turn around. My town isn’t really a “bad neighborhood” where you’re going to be car jacked, it’s ok to go find a safe place to make your turn.
- On a related note, if the GPS tells you you need to turn right and you’re in the left or middle lanes, suck it up and keep going until you find someplace to turn around. Your GPS will correct and you will not put other people in danger. Either way, you’re not being a douche and the rest of us thank you.
Following these simple rules will help prevent me from finding a need to mount a machine gun behind the grill of my car for the next time. For those of you that can’t follow these rules? I hope your genitals rot and attract maggots.
