UPDATE: I used FireFox, it went fine so it’s a browser issue. Also, you can’t get to the features list because you need to go through customer service to up your account level. Still, if you have code to gray it out, you have code to hide the link.
I use ProPay for my credit card processing (at the moment). However, my account expires this month, so I’ve been trying to renew it. Here’s the thing though…I use Chrome for my browser, and it’s always been fine until recently.
Lately, I sign into my account and I’m presented with a renewal screen, I click a button to see my renewal options, and I get to a new page. On this page there is the pricing for Premium, Premium Plus, and something else that’s priced high enough I don’t really care. But I’m curious what the difference is between Premium and Premium Plus, so I click the link that says “See Features and Pricing”.
This does two things. One, it takes me to a page that says I’m not authorized to see and conveniently enough, wipes the browser history. So I can click back and I wind up there, and I can click Next and get out to my main account page. Two, it opens a new tab titled ctasp-server.cgi (1×1) with a URL of: href=”https://stats2.clicktracks.com/cgi-bin/ctasp-server.cgi?i=BRTQK7FWv8pIs4&r=https://epay.propay.com/login/logout.aspx& etc….
Now, call me crazy, but I’m not logging out here, I’m trying to continue using your service. Irritated, but I try to get back to the renewal page.
YOU CAN’T.
I even looked in their FAQ area, did a search, nothing. The only place ‘renew’ occurs is some blather about eBay. eBay is a dead site that doesn’t know it yet, so I really don’t care.
So I’m a bit torn here. I’ll likely try ProPay’s site via FireFox to see if that works better, mainly because I also have their handheld portable device for card recording and I like it. But I tell you, I’m really tempted to call my bank and ask about their merchant services.
Oh, and I did ask ProPay about this via email. I expected maybe something reassuring, “sorry for the inconvenience, it’s fine, we just use that for internal tracking, blah blah blah”, but no. Instead, I got this:
